Applications
How to Apply
- Review the available scholarships below to find any that match your school, interests and goals.
- Complete the online application. Applications are submitted through the scholarship platform Smarter Select. You can apply for multiple scholarships.
- Double check your application to make sure any required items such as transcripts or recommendation letters are attached. Proofread your essay responses as well.
- The application period closes at 11:59 PM on March 1st. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
- Recipients are notified in the spring and recognized during school award ceremonies or otherwise noted PPSF events.

Scholarships for All PPS High School Seniors
Edward N. Woodruff Scholarship
- $950 award available.
- This is a merit based scholarship open to all graduating PPS seniors.

Elizabeth Rasmussen Scholarship
- $2,000 award available.
- Preference will be given to applicants who plan to major in teaching, but other majors may be considered.

NEW for 2025-26! Glen Barton Scholarship
- $3,500 award available.
- Must have minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Must have attended Quest Charter Middle School or Quest Charter High School for at least one academic year.
- Must have participated in one extracurricular activity, either while at Quest or at current high school.

H.E.A.R. Scholarship
- $3,800 award available.
- Must have a documented hearing impairment and have received services in Central Illinois.
- For new applicants, two letters of recommendation are also required.
- Recipients may reapply each year after graduation.

John Dismuke Memorial Scholarship
- $1,000 award available.
- Must plan to major in STEM related field.
- Must have minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must have played in a sport for more than 2 years, including senior year.

- $550 award available.
- Must have minimum 2.1 GPA.
- Preference given to those affiliated with or who have held membership in a service organization.

- $2,250 award available.
- Must have minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Preference to given to those pursuing a degree in business related field.

Kenny M. Ward III Scholarship
- $500 award available.
- Must have “C” average or higher GPA.
- Must be planning to pursue a culinary arts degree.
- Two letters of recommendation from staff required.

- Must be planning to attend University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

- $1,000 award available.

- Must be pursuing culinary or food service related degree.

Urban Forestry Scholarship
- $900 award available.
- Must plan to attend four-year college/university.
- Preference to those studying urban forestry or related field, but all major can apply.

No online application. $1,000 award available. Must have at least 3.0 GPA. Must be pursuing a culinary or food service realted degree.
Urban Forestry Scholarship
$900 award available. Must plan to attend four-year college/university. Preference to those studying urban forestry or related field, but all majors can apply.

Coach Van Honorary Scholarship
- $1,000 award available.
- Must have at least 2.3 GPA.
- Must be involved in an extracurricular activity for 1 year.

Up to $5,600 available. Must plan to attend a four-year college/university.
Scholarships for Peoria High Seniors Only
Lieutenant Colonel Norman E. Emery (Ret) Scholarship
- $1,000 awards available.
- Must be enrolling in a 2- or 4-year college/university as a full time student OR plan to enroll in an accredited trades program OR plan on entering any branch of U.S. military service, including National Guard or Reserves.
- One letter of recommendation from school staff and an official transcript required.

- Must have at least 2.5 GPA.
- Must be involved in extracurricular activities.
- Two letters of recommendation are required, one of them from a teacher or counselor.
